These Terms and Conditions govern the use of this website and the watch repair services provided by Mainspring Atelier ("we", "our", "the workshop"). By using this website or bringing a watch to the workshop, you agree to these terms.

1. About Mainspring Atelier

Mainspring Atelier is a watch repair workshop based at 19 Jalan Wong Ah Fook, 80000 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. Contact: +60 7-224 5683 | [email protected].

2. Services

We offer three workshop services: movement calibration and timing, bracelet resizing and linkwork, and bench servicing for complicated movements. Descriptions and pricing are set out on our Solutions page and may be revised from time to time. The prices shown are for labour and standard consumables unless otherwise stated. Parts required during a bench service are quoted separately and confirmed in writing before sourcing.

We will not commence any work beyond an initial assessment without your agreement. For the bench service for complicated movements, a written scope is prepared and shared before disassembly begins.

3. Estimates and scope of work

Where we provide a written estimate, that estimate covers the work described. If, during the course of service, we discover additional issues that affect the scope, we will pause the work, describe what we have found, and ask how you wish to proceed. We do not add to the scope without your knowledge.

Parts pricing is an estimate based on the components we expect to source. If the actual parts cost differs materially from the estimate, we will inform you before proceeding.

4. Turnaround and timelines

The movement calibration session is typically completed on the same day. Bracelet resizing is generally completed during a single visit. Bench servicing for complicated movements is staged over several weeks; the expected timeline is discussed at the first appointment.

We do not commit to fixed completion dates for complex work. We will communicate any delay that arises, particularly where parts sourcing takes longer than anticipated. We do not rush reassembly to meet an estimate we gave under different circumstances.

5. Collection and uncollected watches

We will notify you when your watch is ready for collection. We ask that you collect it within a reasonable time following that notification. Watches left at the workshop for more than sixty days after notification of completion, without any contact from the owner, may incur a storage charge. We will attempt to contact you before taking any further steps.

6. Care and liability

We handle every piece with care appropriate to its condition and value. Each watch is signed in, assigned a job reference, and stored securely. However, we cannot accept liability for pre-existing damage or for damage arising from conditions within the movement that were not apparent at intake. We note the exterior condition of every piece at the time it is received.

Our liability in relation to any service is limited to the cost of that service. We do not accept liability for the market value of the piece itself unless specifically agreed in writing.

7. Intellectual property and website content

All content on this website — including text, images, and design — belongs to Mainspring Atelier unless otherwise stated. You may read and share the content for personal, non-commercial purposes with attribution. You may not reproduce substantial portions of the content for commercial use without our written permission.

8. Website use

This website is provided for informational purposes and to allow visitors to contact the workshop. You agree to use it only for lawful purposes. We are not responsible for any interruption to the availability of the site, and we may update or remove content without notice.

Links on this site to external pages (including maps or reference sources) are provided for convenience. We do not endorse the content of those external sites and are not responsible for them.

9. Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from these terms or from our services will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

10. Amendments

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. If you have an active service arrangement with us, the terms in effect at the time you brought the watch in will apply to that service.
